My Hook writing

“Can't run much longer” I mumbled to myself. “C'mon legs push it to the limits.”As the straight line of grass appears in front of me I sprint Hard core non stop. Trees were zooming past as fast as lighting the grass disappearing. There just ahead of me was Cooper Fale also sprinting to the finish, I felt like a cheetah desperate for food. I felt like a whole different person just sprinting non stop. I dive at the finish with my hands stuck behind my back, I walk into the crowd falling to my knees then straight to the ground breathing heavily over and over again. “I had come 4th” as i tell my friends. As they all came over to me shouting and saying good job Riley. I mumble to myself you are going to the NEW PLYMOUTH CHAMPS, what is going to happen next.

Hook in writing is when you hook someone into your writing by adding detail, punctuation and descriptive words.

                   Art Gallery

Rooms 10 and 11 went for a visit to the Len lye art Gallery on Friday. When we arrived the building was covered in stainless steel on the outside. We walked inside and looked up the passageway to see huge, wavy, concrete walls.

Then we split up into two groups room 10 and 11. Room 10 set off with a guy name Chris, and room 11 set off with a woman called Rebecker.

We all went off doing different activities and then swapped activities.

Our favorite sculpture was the massive stainless steel fountain that Len Lye created, as well as Len Lye's wavy Grass, that is also made with stainless steel. The Len Lye’s art area was amazing with so many new and creative ideas, Len Lye did his art using sound, music, sculptures, movies.

He liked big things and he wanted to make some of his own and he did.

Len Lye’s art style is very creative and using your imagination to come up with something new.

The art gallery we thought was incredible, and the building was magnificent the way it was designed.

The Lost City Of Pompeii 

If i could travel back in time i would watch Mount Vesuvius explode from a distance, in Pompeii. I want to see those people in Pompeii who didn’t even notice it erupting, some thought it was an Earthquake thats stupid. I also want to see Pompeii ruined with ash everywhere.

What I have learnt this week:
I have learnt how to multiply by 10, but to know how to do this you need to know your basic multiplication
 4 Times 80 well i know what 4 times 8 = 32 so then 4 Times 80 = 320 and you just add a zero so if it was also like 4 times 800 it would be 3200.

Details (Aim, Setting Characters): Minecraft is a fun crafting game with only using your imagination, building anything you can think of. Welcome to the world of blocks everything in the Minecraft world is made completely out of blocks, including yourself. You can also be joined up in multiplayer and play with other people and building with them. There are different types of game modes;there is creative and survival. Creative is a free building mode that lets you build anything. Survival is a mode where you have to survive by also crafting things and hide from mobs which are called, Creepers, zombies, spiders, skeletons, enderman etc, so watch out, and you have to build shelter, craft things using material that you find.

Rating from 1-10 (10 is the highest score) and a comment about: Smoothness 8, Minecraft has really good graphics it may glitch, but it depends what platform you are playing on. Story 8, There are different kinds of versions that a guy named Notch had created. They were selling out fast of minecraft in the early years that  Notch had made. It was one of the best games around where he lives. There is lots of a story about minecraft and how it was created. It is such a great game. Graphics 7, The graphics are really good, although sometimes can't see in the dark properly when it turns night time and can't see straight ahead as far. Multiplayer 10, It is the best it is not fun without people in your world and testing your traps, or help build something, it is the biggest thing people love in minecraft. How would you rate this game overall: 4 and a half stars

Would you recommend this game? yes we would recommend this game why because it is not creepy it will not scare people and it is also appropriate for little kids.Why or why not?

NYLD 2015 questions about the trip

What did you think of NYLD 2015. Give your opinion and reasons why you hold these opinions (at least 4 sentences). Its the best thing to go to it really helped me to be a leader and you get really inspired by the speakers because of their amazing life story.

Who was your favourite speaker and why? (Describe in at least 4 sentences). William pike was my favourite All pasion No limits that was his saying. His amazing story was incredible he does not give up in life although he has lost a leg he carries on with life and still climbs mountains with his fake leg. Dont let your thoughts take over.

What have you learnt about being a leader? (At least 4 sentences). Being a leader is a responsible thing don't give up in life keep going. Find your talent that you like to do and show it to others to see what you can do. Dare to dream Dream your future and achieve it.

How could you use this learning here at school? (At least 4 sentences) I could show my talent by showing kids what i can do on my scooter and bike. And dont give up in learning things in class and other stuff that i do around school or help with.

My Learning Goal This Week

My learning goal this week was to order fractions on a number line in maths. 

Mr Anderson held a workshop on ordering fractions on a number and i was so confused but was glad that i eventually got it.

I was successful in learning this but it was a bit hard at the start and didn't quiet understand.

I persist to not give up i felt like giving up but did not i kept trying.

I soon got this and understood from some friends that helped me understand it really well.

Put this fraction on the Number Line.

We would split this number line into quarters and then count three quarters and there we would have our answer.
